Shriji Medical Fund was formed by taking Rs. 1000/- donations from members of the Community with the aim to fund the medical expenses of Mr. Gunvant Vanmalidas Shah. But after the amount was collected it was decided that if Community members can contribute then if a Trust is formed then we can help members of the Public also. So, in the year 1995, Shriji Medical Relief & Charitable Trust was formed. The main objective of the Trust was to give medical, medicinal and education relief to the downtrodden sections of the society without any bias to caste, creed or religion.
